Italian watch maestros Panerai always have a trick or two up their sleeve – and their latest creations at Watches & Wonders 2021 are no exception.
They revealed a total of six new innovative watch lines at the show, featuring exciting technical developments and original cutting-edge materials, many of which aligned with their mission to bring more circular practises into the world of watchmaking. With many available in only limited quantities, you’ll have to act quick to snap up your favourite.
The newly launched lines are: Luminor Chrono Luna Rossa and Luminor Chrono Monopulsante GMT Blu Notte; Luminor Chrono in models PAM01109, PAM01218 and PAM01110; Luminor Marina eSteel; Submersible eLAB-ID and Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso. Let’s take a closer look at two of the stand-outs:
Luminor Marina eSteel
It’s time to go green with your timepieces. The Luminor Marina eSteel is a showcase for one of Panerai’s most extraordinary technical achievements to date – eSteel, a steel alloy composed entirely of recycled-based materials.
Painstakingly crafted to behave exactly like traditional steel, including resistance to corrosion, this revolutionary model features a brushed case and dial made solely from eSteel – meaning that over half the materials used to make the timepiece are recycled. Meanwhile, the watch itself is powered by a P.9010 calibre movement, and features a rapid adjustment system that can move the hour hand forward or backward in one-hour increments, independently of the minute hand.
The Luminor Marina eSteel is available in three different dial shades, featuring a stylish light-to-dark gradient effect: Blu Profondo, Grigio Roccia and Verde Smeraldo, with a recycled textile strap that coordinates with your chosen dial colour. An extra rubber strap, trapezoidal pin buckle and storage box made of recycled materials is also included.
Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso

Panerai is bringing on the bronze with the latest iteration of their acclaimed 42mm Submersible model. The Bronzo Blu Abisso goes big and bold with this more unusual metal, contrasting a chunky pure bronze case with an understated matte blue dial.
With a graduated unidirectional rotating bezel, bridge device with a crown protecting lever and thick sapphire crystal case-back, it has been technically and conceptually configured to withstand the highest pressures during underwater dives – while also achieving premium precision and accuracy thanks to its P.900 calibre movement.
