Art Central will hold its upcoming show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Thursday, 26 May to Sunday, 29 May 2022 with VIP preview commencing on Wednesday, 25 May.

The event will see the return of established as well as new artists. As a widely recognised incubator for artists and galleries in the growing market for contemporary art in Asia, the exhibition focuses on showcasing progressive works that challenge its boundaries.

A feat that was achieved through the dedicated commitment between galleries and partners with Art Central, says Corey Andrew Barr, Fair director of Art Central.

“Increased engagement with Hong Kong galleries and artists has been a silver lining to the pandemic situation, and we are proud to support their work as part of our mission to bring greater attention to the creative talent of our home city,” he says.

Art Central 2022 will occupy a significantly larger space than the previous edition and will feature a group of over fifty galleries with strong representation from Hong Kong-based exhibitors.

Over twenty galleries will join Art Central for the first time in 2022, including Hong Kong-based exhibitors Touch Gallery, Double Q Gallery and Square Street Gallery.

Notable international exhibitors include Taichung-based Gin Huang Gallery and Mwimbi Fine Art among others.

In addition, the seventh edition is seeing a record number of participating Hong Kong artists spread across a diverse portfolio of gallery booths, curated installations and public art projects. Supplemented by a series of public talks, video and performance art presented by Asia Society Hong Kong Center, the official education partner of the fair.
