Hood by Air designer Shayne Oliver is creating a special collection for Helmut Lang, Business of Fashion Reports.
Rumours of the collaboration began earlier this month when Hood by Air cancelled their Paris Fashion Week show. While many feared the brand was on the verge of closing, an insider has now revealed that the young designer was just, “focusing his time on the special project with Helmut Lang.”
Oliver—the unlikely pioneer of personal aesthetic, known for embracing a variety of influences from skate-culture to fetish and even high fashion— was tapped by Isabella Burley, editor-in-chief of Dazed magazine, and newly appointed editor-in-residence at Helmut Lang. His capsule collection, expected to debut in September 2017, will include menswear, womenswear and accessories.
