The Richemont group has recruited LVMH executive Philippe Fortunato to be the group’s head of fashion and accessories. First reported by WWD, Fortunato was the chief executive officer of Givenchy and will soon oversee Richemont brands like Chloé, Dunhill, Maison Alaïa and Peter Millar.
During his six years at Givenchy, Fortunato oversaw the collections of now Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci and former designer Clare Waight Keller. This move comes as the fashion industry is still struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, with high hopes that Fortunato, who has a wealth of experience in retail, brand and creative management, will be able to grow Richemont’s fashion brands that have not performed as well as the maison’s watches and jewellery counterpart.
For those who might not know, Richemont owns Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Montblanc, IWC Schaffhausen, Piaget, Panerai and they also own the YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP.
