?Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon has landed her debut modelling campaign for Stella McCartney.
The 19-year-old performing arts student has been revealed as one of the faces of the designer’s new “Pop” fragrance. She appears alongside actress and comic book writer Amandla Stenberg (seen in The Hunger Games), singer “Grimes” (real name Claire Boucher), and model Kenya Kinski-Jones.
McCartney confirmed the news by posting a photo of the famous teen on Instagram from the campaign, depicting the young artist sporting silver hair with lavender streaks and staring wistfully off-camera.
The young foursome was handpicked by McCartney herself, in what she calls a “very personal” casting.
“We wanted to try and set a precedent for a new way to look at beauty, and a new way to just talk about how young women are allowed to be,” she toldWWD. Of Leon, known as ‘Lola’, she added: “I’ve known Lola since the day she was born, and it’s been an amazing experience to see her grow and become an inspiring young woman.”
For her part, Leon clearly appreciates the campaign’s honest approach, telling Vogue: “I love when someone doesn’t pretend to be someone they are not.”
The campaign, which was shot by Glen Luchford, focuses on an all-American road trip, featuring the models dancing in the desert. The images are accompanied by a video directed by Melina Matsoukas.
Leon is one of several teens following high-profile family members into the world of modeling right now. In February Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber revealed the images from her first major fashion campaign, while Victoria Beckham’s son Brooklyn stepped behind the camera to shoot an upcoming Burberry fragrance campaign.
Pop, a tuberose and sandalwood scent aimed at young women who are “popping, and ready for the next phase,” will launch later this month in the US and globally in July. It will be available in Sephora and Stella McCartney stores as well as online.
