Who said pyjama parties were only for kids? Dolce & Gabbana, known for their signature underwear as outerwear look, threw a fabulous pyjama party for the stars in the lead up to the Oscars this weekend. Hosted at the penthouse of the Hollywood landmark hotel Chateau Marmont, celebrities like Jessica Alba, Naomi Campbell and our cover star Nicole Richie donned silk pyjamas in bold prints straight off Dolce & Gabbana’s collection, showing the rest of the world that the fashion show can continue off the runway.
Although surrounded by large beds and pillows dressed in one of a kind Dolce & Gabbana sheets, there was no chance for rest as the guests turned the penthouse into a makeshift selfie studio. Dolce & Gabbana also allowed the world a peek into the most fashionable slumber party via Snapchat, promoting the event days earlier on their social media channels to follow their exclusive time-limited handle on the video publishing app.
Starlet Jessica Alba slipped into a smouldering black D&G pyjama set with roses print, while celebrity-turned-fashion designer Nicole Ritchie wore a purple and white two-piece floral ensemble. Actress Jamie Chung turned up in a similar white rose-printed loungewear, and stylist Rachel Zoe added a spin with a black see-through caftan. Guys weren’t left out, with models and actors Will Peltz and Adam Senn in their equally stylish black and white getups.
Dolce & Gabbana partnered with fashion editor Derek Blasberg to host and entertain the star-studded guest list.
“When I was a kid, slumber parties were always the most fun way to spend a night,” he said. “So we’re doing it again – only with much chicer PJ’s!”
