American Independence is the theme of this year’s Met Gala and stars did not disappoint, arriving on the red carpet in looks that show off their personal style and individuality. While the year’s theme centres on American fashion heritage, attendees walked the red carpet dressed in creations by designers from around the world.

Billie Eilish

The singer brought old Hollywood drama to the red carpet with a nude tulle Oscar de la Renta Dress. She opted for low-key sparkle with an assortment of white gold and diamond bracelets and rings from Cartier.

Kim Kardashian

Covered from head-to-toe, literally, in black, Kardashian arrived on the red carpet dressed in one of her favourite labels – Balenciaga. She paired her look with a long ponytail and without any jewellery.

Rihanna

Also dressed in black is Rihanna, who opted to pair her look with plenty of jewels, including an elaborate diamond headpiece and choker. Her structured hooded dress is a Balenciaga creation.

Rosé

Blackpink’s Rosé and ambassador of Saint Laurent arrived on the red carpet with designer Anthony Vaccarello, wearing one of his creations. Her short dress featured an oversized white satin bow which she paired with a floral necklace.

Justin and Hailey Bieber

The Biebers arrived in matching black outfits, Justin’s by his own fashion label La Maison Drew. Hailey wears a black Saint Laurent dress with a plunging neckline plus a necklace from Tiffany & Co.

Chloe and Halle Bailey

The sisters arrived wearing jewels from Tiffany & Co.

CL

Draped in a denim coat and white shorts, K-pop star CL walks the red carpet with a fierce blond hairdo and dramatic cat eye makeup.

Kendall Jenner

The model wears an embellished Haute Couture Givenchy dress custom made for the event.

Gigi Hadid

In a white strapless Prada dress, Gigi Hadid adds a bit of edge to her look with black leather gloves.

Amanda Gorman

Poet and first-time Met Gala co-chair Amanda Gorman stepped out in an electric blue dress and braided hair. She completed her look with diamond earrings and rings from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection.

Timothée Chalamet

The actor paired a tuxedo jacket with white sweat pants by Haider Ackermann. He accessorised his look with two Cartier Vintage brooches circa 1928 pinned to his sweats.

Gemma Chan

The actress wears a black dress with a long seafoam green train by Prabal Gurung. She wears earrings, rings and Cluster Wreath damond necklace with 47.84 carats of diamonds from Harry Winston.
