German designer Philipp Plein has brought his namesake brand to Singapore, opening the first flagship store in the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort.
The opening was celebrated with a party featuring a black carpet, in line with the colour palette used for the first floor of the boutique that spans two levels. The guest list included personalities like DJ Hyo, Crazy Rich Asian’s Fiona Xie, television personality Amanda Chaang, and the man of the hour, Philipp Plein. As the opening was officiated, a traditional lion dance was performed in front of the store for good luck. After the official opening, the party continued at CÉ LA VI, where DJ Hyo took over the reins of the DJ turntable as the highlight act.
The new store, which is one of 34 boutiques in Asia and 96 worldwide, will feature the brand’s iconic rock and bold style. The first floor is the Men’s Area while the Women’s is on the second floor. Each floor has its own entrance, with unique crystal skulls inside glass cases greeting customers as they step into the sections. Both floors feature gorgeous Murano chandeliers. The colour scheme also evolves as one moves between the levels, with the black marble from the Men’s section turning into white arabesque for the Women’s section.
Philipp Plein’s signature non conformist style clothing can be found on each floor, along with bags and leather goods. The clothes are displayed in hanging boxes and other accessories are displayed in the walls or folding tables. The belts on the first floor and some accessories on the second also have their own standing displays.
