Recently, Italian brand Hogan announced its new autumn/winter 2019-20 collection. Titled “Cold North” and inspired by the glaciers and beauty of the Arctic, it makes use of the “urban gypsetter” aesthetic that Hogan introduced in previous advertising campaigns, such as for the SS18 collection. The pieces from the sport-luxe collection are described as embodying the Danish “hygge style”, combined with Hogan’s effortless look to create “a collection aimed to make an impact to those who want to dress comfortably and always look in style”.
The pieces include sporty-chic sneakers and boots, as well as faux furs that feature trims and soft rope laces with textures inspired by ice climbing. Staying true to the Danish style, the pieces feature layers of matte and shiny white with Iceland black and glossy silver, all evoking glacial imagery. Other colours featured in the Cold North palette are stone black, ice white, glacier silver, boreal pink and blue, and hazel brown. The bags are described as “maxi and supple, simply designed and wisely accessorised”, while the over-parkas and winter down jackets are structured to create a “contemporary and urban look”.
Among the highlights for men and women are the Hogan Max.I.Active luxury sneaker for women and the Hogan Urban Trek for men. The Max.I.Active combines the brand’s urban spirit and sophistication to create a sneaker with a clean and straightforward design, bold volumes and “the look that takes you straight to the ice pack”. The Urban Trek, meanwhile, mixes the ruggedness of the outdoor world with the elegance of the modern man of the hour. Its design is described as “a blend of form and function, while its soul makes it the ultimate cool”. Hogan has also created a new style of women’s sneakers called Interaction. Described as “another form of daddy sneakers”, the sole is inspired by glaciers and resemble two blocks of ice, keeping with the “Cold North” theme.
