Immersive Journey of Junji Ito

Notorious for their meticulous yet grotesque art style, Junji Ito’s mangas have achieved cult status around the world. Most notably, the character Tomie, who is portrayed as a girl smiling with a splitting image of a monster, has gone viral and since been an inspiration to many including tattoo artists.

The Immersive Journey of Junji Ito presented by The Mills features five major stories from the prominent horror mangaka. The twisted settings are brought to life in each exhibition area via life-size character models in cramped spaces—giving visitors a surreal look into Ito’s world of horror.

Art Next Expo

Art Next Expo returns this October to showcase the development of Hong Kong’s contemporary art, ranging from ink, mixed media to large-scale installation and art toys. This year’s exhibition brings together Hong Kong creatives alongside emerging artists from Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia as well as other parts of Asia, Europe, North America and South Africa.

The Sleeping Beauty by Hong Kong Ballet

If you’re a hopeless romantic and a lover of ballet and fairytales, look no further. Hong Kong Ballet presents a Disney classic—The Sleeping Beauty—featuring Wei Wei as Prince Désiré in his final role as a principal dancer.

Dubbed one of the most famous ballets in history alongside Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, the story revolves around Prince Désiré who saves Princess Aurora from the wicked fairy Carabosse’s curse with a kiss. Oktoberfest returns to Basehall, bringing the party from Munich to Hong Kong with more beer, German-inspired dishes and authentic traditional festivities, including a beer stein holding competition. Kids can join in on the fun, too. This year’s event will feature a series of family-friendly activities, ranging from cookie decorating, ring toss to face painting and much more. The Oktoberfest cookie decorating is prepared by Nest Bakery, a non-profit bakery supporting adults with learning disabilities in Hong Kong.

Jurassic Park in Concert
