Sergei Shchukin, a Russian businessman from the 19th century gained an appreciation for art when traveling to Paris and purchasing a piece by Monet. This was the spark that led to his passion for collecting art pieces, leading him to have gathered around 258 pieces in his lifetime. Nowadays, this collection has been regarded as one of the most comprehensive of its time period.
Fondation Louis Vuitton, an art museum and cultural center located in Paris, France, will hold an exhibition from October 22, 2016 to February 20, 2017 to show its appreciation for this world-renowned collection.
