"...In the elegant halls of Watches and Wonders 2025 in Geneva, where the finest names in haute horlogerie unveil their latest icons, one debut stood out with poetic resonance: Bvlgari’s grand entrance. For the first time, the Roman maison officially joined the prestigious fair, marking a significant milestone in its watchmaking journey..."
The Bvlgari booth was no ordinary showcase. Conceived as a majestic Temple of Time, its design was inspired by ancient Roman architecture, inviting visitors into a world where history and innovation intertwine. It perfectly echoed the brand’s theme for the year “Beyond Time”—a concept that melds artisanal excellence, cutting-edge innovation, and bold design that dares to defy convention.
At the heart of this immersive experience were two breathtaking showpieces: the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon and the mesmerising Serpenti Aeterna.
Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon: A Record-Breaking Revelation
Slim has never been so daring. A decade after the Octo Finissimo’s 2014 debut, Bvlgari continues its legacy of engineering the world’s thinnest timepieces. Its latest triumph, the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, now claims the title of the world’s thinnest flying tourbillon, measuring just 1.85 mm thick. This is no ordinary watch—it is a feat of mechanical sculpture. The case and movement are seamlessly integrated into a single entity, crafted from high-tech tungsten carbide and micro-bead blasted titanium. At its core lies the skeletonised BVF 900 calibre, allowing light to dance through its open architecture like sunshine through a Roman colonnade.
Every detail is executed with masterful precision—from rhodium-coated grooves finished with a sunburst effect, to a faceted tourbillon bridge that exudes architectural elegance. With no fewer than eight patents, the timepiece sets new standards in display, construction and crystal-setting techniques. Even the titanium bracelet, impossibly thin at 1.5 mm, redefines what ultra-thin truly means. Here, slenderness is not merely an aesthetic—it is a bold, technical statement.
Serpenti Aeterna: The Icon Reborn
Bvlgari’s eternal muse, the serpent, reawakens in mesmerising form with the launch of Serpenti Aeterna. Timed perfectly with 2025—the Year of the Snake, this new creation honours transformation and rebirth in the most elegant of expressions.
Gone are the jewelled eyes and scaled textures of previous iterations. In their place: purity of form, minimalist strength, and a sensuous curve that wraps around the wrist like a secret. Crafted from 18k gold and paved with brilliant-cut diamonds, the Serpenti Aeterna is not a watch that shouts for attention—it commands it quietly, yet irresistibly.
Two years in development, the timepiece is a lesson in restraint and ingenuity. An invisible clasp ensures the silhouette remains unbroken, while a subtle hexagonal motif engraved on the inner surface feels like a hidden message—meant only for the wearer. Offered in a rose gold edition with diamond accents, as well as an haute joaillerie white gold version set with diamonds throughout, Serpenti Aeterna is more than a timepiece. It is an icon of feminine power, reborn.
25 Years of Watchmaking under LVMH: A New Chapter Begins
Bvlgari’s debut at Watches and Wonders is also a celebration of 25 years of visionary watchmaking under LVMH. From its roots as a Roman jeweller famed for colour and daring design, to its evolution into a 21st-century horological pioneer, the journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
As Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of LVMH Watches and Bvlgari, remarked: “Every record we break, every design we create, is not merely about technology—it’s a story of creativity, craftsmanship, and passion. Watches and Wonders is the perfect stage to share that story with the world.”
In a world that spins ever faster, Bvlgari invites us to pause. To observe the rhythm of time more intimately—in the shimmer of a case, in the breath of a movement, in the very soul of each creation. Because at Bvlgari, time is never just measured—it is imagined.
