Who says you can’t be sporty and cultured at the same time? Known for its rare skateboards, French gallery Boom-Art has joined forces with UWL Surfboard – one of the largest surf factories in Europe – to create a series of limited edition surfboards which reference some of the most famous Renaissance and Flemish baroque masterpieces such as The Lady and the Unicorn (La Dame à la Licorne) and Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights. Handmade in France using polyester resin and hand-shaped polyurethane foam, each six-foot-long board in the 504 Series is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of manufacture, fins and carrying case. Hooks allow the boards to be hung on a wall – entirely apt given how pretty they look. But with just 10 available, you’d better act fast if you want to get on board.
