Louis Vuitton takes home two Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève prizes this year for two timepieces that are distinctively different in style and design
At this year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, Louis Vuitton took home two awards that confirm the house’s unique vision in the realm of watchmaking.
One of the most prestigious awards in watchmaking, Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, has over the years extended recognition to the world’s greatest watchmakers. Its awards bring attention to an industry known for its creativity as well as its relentless pursuit of perfection and precision.
This year, Louis Vuitton is the proud recipient of two awards, each speaking to the maison’s passion for watchmaking.
The Tambour Carpe Diem was named the winner of the Audacity Prize. Beyond a machine for telling time, this watch features an automaton mechanism that powers four animations, along with the jumping hour, retrograde minute and, power reserve. The dial features a miniature hand painting depicting a skull and a snake by famed enamelist Anita Porchet.
Winning the Diver’s Watch Prize is the Tambour Street Diver. The 44 mm stainless steel and PVD case houses an automatic movement that brings life to the timekeeping functions, including the small seconds hand at six o’clock. The timepiece’s hands and indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova for legibility underwater.
