Founded in 1895 in Austria, Swarovski designs and manufactures some of the world’s highest-quality crystal. Celebrating its 125th anniversary, Swarovski has just appointed Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as its first-ever company-wide Global Creative Director.
Born in Milan, Engelbert started her career as a model for Dolce & Gabbana before moving into the world of fashion as an editor at Vogue Italia and soon after became a street-style star. She had already been committed to the creative direction of Swarovki’s B2B division since 2016, and now moves into the family-owned business in her permanent role.
“Our 125-year history has witnessed the power of our company to transform and reinvent itself, and I am pleased to welcome a brilliant, creative mind and strong female leader like Giovanna to our company. With her remarkable track record in the industry and compelling point of view, she will explore new frontiers and become a vital part in writing the next chapter of our success story.”
Robert Buchbauer, CEO, Swarovski
Engelbert’s first collection of products will be showcased in Swarovki’s spring/summer 2021 collection.
