Soho House Hong Kong is marking its fifth anniversary with a month-long celebration that promises to encapsulate the essence of creativity, culture, and community that the venue has fostered since its opening in 2019. Nestled in the vibrant Sheung Wan district, this members' club has evolved into a cultural hub, attracting creative minds from various fields and offering a unique blend of dining, entertainment and social "cultivatio".

Culinary highlights

At the heart of the anniversary celebrations are a series of culinary pop-ups featuring renowned Michelin-starred chefs. The standout event is the Exclusive Four-Hands Dinner on September 21, where Andrew Wong, the acclaimed chef behind the two Michelin-starred A. Wong in London, will collaborate with Soho House Hong Kong's executive chef. This unique dining experience will showcase a sharing tasting menu that pays homage to 3,000 years of Chinese culinary heritage, complemented by a five-glass beverage pairing. Priced at HK$1,500 per person, this event is open to both members and guests by invitation, promising an unforgettable culinary journey.

Wong's dinner follows the exciting collaboration with chef Dave Verheul from Embla Melbourne, where guests indulged in handcrafted bites and cocktails centred around Saison, chef Verheul's small-batch vermouth.

Another highlight is the Yaya's Shanghai Presents Mapo Tofu Lasagna event where guests can enjoy a buffet dinner featuring the unique dish alongside lively music for HK$400 per person.

Mixology and Masterclasses

The anniversary festivities also include a focus on innovative mixology. Renowned bartender Shuichi Nagatomo, owner of Bar Oscar in Fukuoka, will host a mixology masterclass on September 23, followed by a bar takeover on September 24, featuring a limited menu of Japanese-inspired cocktails. The masterclass is priced at HK$220 per ticket which includes two special cocktails, while the bar takeover is open to guests by invitation only.

Dynamic entertainment

Beyond the culinary delights, Soho House Hong Kong’s anniversary celebrations will feature a vibrant array of entertainment until the end of September. Performances by local artists, including Schoolgirl Bye Bye on September 22 and Moon Tang on September 27 culminate in a lively House Party on September 28 with The Afroseas and Novel Friday.

Cultural enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to engage in a series of enlightening talks and workshops. Notable events include an art talk with British artist Hannah Rollings and a behind-the-scenes conversation with filmmaker Derek Tsang, director of the Netflix hit 3 Body Problem.

A commitment to community

Soho House Hong Kong's fifth anniversary is not just a celebration of its past but also a reaffirmation of its commitment to fostering a vibrant community.
