It’s the start of a new and exciting run for Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini, who announced their new partnership at the legendary car manufacturer’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese last week.
As part of this new alliance, Roger Dubuis revealed two watches with a new calibre inspired by Lamborghini’s flagship Aventador S, while Lamborghini presented the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO.
The Excalibur Aventador S comes fitted with the specially developed Duotor calibre, a Lamborghini-exclusive Roger Dubuis movement with engine strut bars and double balance wheels to make it look as though you are looking at the back of a Lamborghini.
The timepiece is available in two versions. Eighty-eight pieces are made with a multi-layered carbon composite case and yellow rubber accents in the inimitable Lamborghini “Giallo Orion” yellow paint code. The other even rarer version, in an orange “Arancio Argos” comes in a limited edition of 8 pieces. This rare timepiece is made even more precious with the use of C-SMC carbon in the case, based on the same technology as that used for Lamborghini cars – a world first.
As for the car, the brand new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO is the evolution of the Huracán Super Trofeo introduced in 2014. The new model is extensively redeveloped, and is attired in all-new carbon fibre body kit, developed with Dallara, one of the biggest Italian firms in the worldwide motorsport scene, and offers more efficient aerodynamics and a more powerful engine. The car will be making its track debut at the three continental series in Europe, Asia and North America from spring 2018, with the possibility of competing in international Gran Turismo championships in the GT Cup category, and Endurance races as well.
