Richard Mille RM07-01 Black Ceramic

When it comes to watches, today’s women don’t settle for diamonds and a pretty dial, they want the same technology and the same complications as any men’s watch. Richard Mille, the maker of some of the most robust and powerful watches, understands this need and has an ever growing collection of women’s watches

There’s no challenge too inconceivable for Richard Mille, who constantly push the limits of modern luxury watchmaking to the next level (regardless of price point). Earlier last year, Richard Mille unveiled RM07-01 and RM037, where diamonds were set into the carbon TPT cases.

Their latest breakthrough sets yet another watchmaking record: the RM 07-01 Black Ceramic sees diamonds set into ceramic for the first time.

Exceptionally hard and scratch resistant, ceramic does not give like the usual precious metals that gemstones are usually set into. To accomplish this feat, tiny holes had to be drilled into the ceramic to fit in the 0.25mm red gold prongs that would hold the diamonds in place.

The watch case in gem-set black ceramic and red gold houses the in-house calibre CRMA2. Its variable-geometry rotor in 18k red gold makes it possible adjust the automatic winding to the activity of the wearer.

The RM 07-01 Black Ceramic will be on view at SIHH in Geneva later this month, so be sure to check our Instagram and website for all the latest updates.
