Located on the peaks of sunny St. Moritz, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel has been the destination of choice for the jet-set for more than 120 years, playing host to legends like Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich and Charlie Chaplin. In 1935, its owner Hans Badrutt acquired a nearby chalet to house a host of eateries for its discerning clients. Chesa Veglia, which dates back to 1658 and has a distinct chalk-white exterior and a slated roof, is now home to three restaurants and two bars that are the mecca for the luxury alpine resort’s illustrious guests.

Here in Hong Kong, we don’t have to travel to Switzerland for a taste of the alpine dining experience. Chesa at the Peninsula is already the home of authentic Swiss cuisine in the city, but for three days, they will be partnering with Badrutt’s Palace Hotel to offer guests an alpine dining experience like never before.

The team from Chesa Veglia, including head chef Andrea Panatti, will be in town from today until September 29 to cook and serve up Swiss classics like their signature lobster salad, and a St. Moritz specialty: Pizzoccheri Puschlav-style, a buckwheat pasta dish with green beans, potato, spinach and cheese, as well as Blanc et Rouge, a roasted corn-fed chicken from Bresse in rosemary butter and beef Chateaubriand with béarnaise sauce.

A three-course set lunch menu is also available, for those who would like to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for just a short while within the cosy enclave of Chesa.

The pop-up Swiss gastronomic adventure runs from September 27 to 29. For bookings, call 2696 6769.
