We haven’t seen such a good looking hotel in Hong Kong for a while. Designed by Foster + Partners, The Murray, a Niccolo Hotel, has taken over the space which used to house the former government office building, Murray Building, and boasts 336 rooms with more than 75 per cent measuring in at 50 square metres or more.
The hotel have carefully preserved much of the original design, such as the building’s distinctive arches frame and recessed windows. Only seconds away from Hong Kong Park and the nearby Botanical Gardens, the location is not only convenient but great for those who like to get outdoors.
In fact, there’s an incredibly thoughtful wellness programme at The Murray to make sure you don’t forget to make some time for some self-love. Aside from their small yet indulgent spa facilities (which include freshly-brewed bespoke teas and personalised blends of essential oils), The Murray offers an in-house nutritionist, private training sessions and a variety of outdoor workouts and adventure classes upon request. There’s also an in-room wellness guide covering the best trails in the city and more.
Feeling jet lagged? All of their massages are tailored according to your specific needs and don’t forget to make use of the aromatherapy bath amenities from all-organic botanical skincare brand Grown Alchemist in your room.
From the city’s newest rooftop restaurant and bar Popinjays to Chinese fare at Guo Fu Lou complete with an outdoor terrace, The Murray is also home to a modern and comfy lobby bar Murray Lane and international restaurants The Tai Pan and Garden Lounge.
If you’re looking for a chic and sophisticated getaway where the service and the glamour is tasteful (and not overdone like many five and six-star establishments), The Murray’s Summer Staycation experience has exactly what you need.
Available until the end of August 2018, the Summer Staycation package starts at HK$5,200 for a Grand Room and HK$7,900 for a Signature Suite and includes daily breakfast, HK$2,000 to be enjoyed at Murray Lane, Garden Lounge, The Tai Pan or for room service, HK$2,000 credit for treatments and activities by Wellness at The Murray, a round-trip Peak Tram ticket for up to four persons, a signature Murray cake and welcome gift and a complimentary extra bed with additional sofa-sleeper for children aged nine and below.
