If you haven’t heard of Jeff Koons, you need to. The Philadelphia-born New Yorker is one of the most controversial, and coveted, artists of this generation, and he continues to break the boundaries or art to this day.
Recently celebrated at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles’s annual gala, Koons is now the subject of yet another honour by the museum: a mini documentary. Simply titled ‘Jeff Koons’, the eight-minute production follows his life and career. Directed by Oscar Boyson and narrated by Scarlett Johansson (with special appearances by Pharrell Williams and Larry Gagosian), the film showcases artist’s journey from hopeful to legend, shining the spotlight on his most famous works, including his notorious Balloon Dog.
