Jay Chou unveils new Tudor Royal watch

Taiwanese singer and songwriter Jay Chou and Tudor ambassador is back, this time to help the luxury watchmaker unveil their new Tudor Royal collection, a name that was first used seven decades ago.

The Tudor Royal 

Used to reference the superior quality of its watches made in Switzerland, the name “Royal” was first used by Tudor in the 1950s. Meticulously crafted from robust 316L stainless steel with a screw-down winding crown, the case of all Tudor Royal Models are waterproof to a depth of up to 100 metres below the surface of the ocean. Other distinctive qualities include its quiet “five-link” bracelet and applied hour markers coated in Swiss Super-LumiNova® luminescent material.

Dubbed “the sport-chic watch” by Tudor, the new Tudor Royal watch retains the original waterproof case for adrenaline junkies who live it up underwater, as well as the iconic “five-link” bracelet, integrated with the case for the fashionistas who prefer a streamlined look. The bracelet is constructed by two slimmer polished elements are set between three wide satin-brushed links, ensuring a smooth feeling on the wrist for comfort. Change the bracelet up with alternating links in 316L stainless steel and 18 ct yellow gold.

The new Royal watches are available in four different sizes to fit every wrist. In particular, the 41mm version boasts a semi-instantaneous day indicator that shows the day of the week every time its hands strike 12 o’clock.

The new Tudor Royal further caters to every taste by offering nine different dial makes, finished in black, silver, champagne-colour or blue sunray satin. For the feminine edition in mother-of-pearl, which features either applied Roman numeral indices or diamonds. The bezel features notches with alternating polished surfaces and cut grooves. Movement-wise, the collection departs from the brand’s usual in-house approach and makes use of Swiss self-winding mechanical calibre. The watch operates at a frequency of 4Hz and carries a power reserve of 38 hours.
