Fred presents its latest Force 10 jewellery collection – the Force 10 capsule – for the French Open, one of the Grand Slam’s toughest circuits
The Force 10 collection first came to be in 1966 as the ultimate embodiment of sport and unisex jewellery. The collection started off as a tribute to courageous sailors and the extreme wind power they battle at sea. This year, Fred partners with the French Open – also known as the Roland-Garros Tournament – to once again position itself as a proponent of competitive spirit and challenge in the world of sport.
This follows the philosophical footsteps of Fred Samuel and Roland Garros who are pioneers and champions in their respective fields. And where better to demonstrate this than at the French Open, one of the toughest tournaments on the circuit? As a result, the capsule comprises three new bracelets.
To celebrate the first year of this extraordinary collaboration, the maison produced a two-tone white and terracotta braided cable in a limited series. These are interchangeable with other Force 10 models. They can be worn on their own or stacked.
One of the bracelets combines yellow gold with a pavé of 64 white and yellow diamonds to evoke the glowing clay beneath the sun. It also includes citrines, yellow sapphires and orange spessartite garnets. Another is an ultra-refined version in white gold.
For the first capsule designed for both women and men, maison Fred is inspired by the essence of the Roland-Garros Tournament. Infused is the French Open’s unique atmosphere and the je-ne-sais-quoi casual elegance that make for an unparalleled event.
The exclusive capsule threads a common theme with the terracotta clay colour, and the white of the lines that make up the courts. Two styles as well as two new Force 10 buckles are introduced with an exclusive signature. A tennis ball motif is engraved on the side of the buckle. On the reverse, a terracotta-hued garnet connects the name of Fred and the contrasting two-tone logo of the Roland-Garros tournament.
On its tip features the Roland-Garros logo while the cable is coloured terracotta for the first time, reflecting the Grand Slam’s emblematic hue.
The Force 10 capsule will be available starting May 2, 2023, in selected Fred and partner boutiques. It will also be available in boutiques at the French Open, and the Fred and Roland-Garros e-commerce platforms. In Hong Kong, one can find it in the Fred Elements Boutique (Shop 2021, 1 Austin Rd W, Elements; Tel: 2915 6618).
