Hong Kong winters can be bone-chilling cold, so how are our most fashionable #legend100 friends staying warm and stylish? We quizzed them for their winter wardrobe essentials, and even nabbed the links for you to shop their looks. Below, get some winter wardrobe inspiration from Alan See, Louise Wong, Declan Chan, Faye Tsui and Yvette Kong:
“I’ve been wearing my Road Jacket quite a bit this season. This one is done in Casentino fabric, which is a popular choice by shepherds in Italy for its hardiness an warmth. It keeps me warm and is a bit more casual too, which definitely fits the current WFH situation without looking like I just rolled out of bed.”
This textured and weather-proof coat has also been a blessing. Made by Nakagomi-san, who is an amazing textiles and coat designer, it’s great with a double breasted pinstripe suit (as pictured) and also with denim on the weekends.
I have a sizeable collection of scarves from my university days. My favourite is from Andreas (bottom right series), which feature plain colours woven on an old shuttle loom. They’re able to use finer yarns at slower weave speeds to create this buttery soft hand. They also stay cool to the touch and are not stuffy.
Calzedonia Ribbed Longuette Effect Tights with Cashmere
My feet get really cold in the winter, so I invest in a lot of cashmere socks. My favourite ones are from Calzedonia because they keep my toes nice and toasty.
I love the cropped bomber silhouette, and this brown leather one from Sandro is great piece that goes with everything – from feminine silk dresses to t-shirts and jeans.
I loved the Celine “The Dancing Kid” collection from FW20, and this fair isle cardigan in wool caught my attention the most. Its oversized, so I like to layer it on over a denim jacket.
I’ve owned the Max Mara teddy coat for a couple years now, and I wear it every winter. I’ve also been wearing the vest version in a versatile camel colour.
This is one of the signature pieces from the Gucci x The North Face collection, one of my favourite collections of all time. I love the retro-inspired styles and the eye-catching print.
This piece from Fendi can function both as a dress or an overcoat. I love the retro silhouette and functional cargo pocket details, and I can wear it buttoned up as a dress or with something form-fitting inside and leave it open as a coat.
A statement coat is an important winter essential. I love this grey wool-cashmere coat from Salvatore Ferragamo with its cape design, especially for its belted waist detail.
