Global industry leaders gather at Fashion Asia Hong Kong 2021

Fashion insiders come together to discuss the future of the industry and the impact they have on the global stage

In addition to its status as a cultural crossroad and an international financial hub, Hong Kong also leads Asia on fashion and design. Initiated by the Hong Kong Government to address current challenges and explore new opportunities in the local fashion scene, Fashion Asia Hong Kong 2021 has concluded earlier this December with two parts, the Fashion Challenges Forum and the 10 Asian Designers to Watch Exhibition.

The Fashion Challenges Forum

Physical and virtual panels were held during the Fashion Challenges Forum to discuss trends and values, actionable ideas and business innovations, and fresh perspectives and new priorities in the post-pandemic fashion world.

Alain Li, regional chief executive of Richemont Asia Pacific, gave the opening speech to underline Hong Kong’s prospect of leading Asia in the rapidly-evolving global fashion system with innovations and regional influence.

Multiple fashion leaders, creators and academics shared their expertise and experiences on the collaboration, creativity and transformation in the contemporary fashion landscape.

These key conversations at the forum surrounded topics of sustainability, globalisation, the power of influencers in China and beyond, engaging and adapting to the metaverse as well as the shifts in e-commerce and inclusivity in the industry.
