Beyond his musical talents, Hong Kong superstar Jackson Wang continues to make waves in the fashion world. As a driving force behind the stylish brand Team Wang design for over four years, the brand recently unveiled its latest collection, ‘I See The Lights’. #legend_th secured an exclusive interview with this multi-talented artist, delving into the brand’s direction, his personal vision, and the team’s aspirations for the future.

#legend_th: How many cities are being selected to have pop-ups for the I See The Lights collection?

JW: I think currently we have Shanghai, China, and Bangkok, and we’re thinking of Tokyo too. But it won’t be like a pop-up. It’s more of a physical display.

#legend_th: Is Thailand going to be one of the major locations for Team Wang’s design development plans?

JW: I mean, I think whatever Team Wang design, actually, the timeline for Team Wang design and also Team Wang records music and fashion, they’re parallel to each other. So where I’m physically at, I think the plan would just follow according to that and be planned according to that.

#legend_th: So, after 30, how do you see things differently and with colours?

JW: I don’t think age is the problem. I think it’s more about what are some of the experiences and things that I went through that inspired me to create this collection. Yeah, and certain things, good or bad, you know, it’s meant to happen and that’s where it brought me to today. So, yeah, I don’t think it’s an age thing.

#legend_th: It’s the fourth birthday of Team Wang design. How do you feel about this IP developed so far? And what’s your most memorable milestone?

JW: I feel like we’re just starting now. I think for the past four years, you know, Henry and I, we built this company for the past four years. I feel like we’re just figuring things out and because, you know, there isn’t a certain standard for everyone. For the past four years, we’ve just trying to figure out what our standard is on doing things how we look at things and how we approach things. So, I mean, it’s good we finally started and this is the first collection.

#legend_th: What’s your key driving force in leading Team Wang design to the current stages?

JW: Again, I don’t think it’s a business thing to start off with. It’s more the freedom and the environment for us to create whatever we want, create whatever we believe. And it’s also very in parallel, in sync with my growth as a person.

#legend_th: What keeps motivating you consistently to create different works?

JW: I think it’s just me. I just like creating and expressing. It’s not just apparel or outfits that we sharing with everyone. It’s more the message behind it.

#legend_th: Please share the next exciting plans for Team Wang design?

JW: After that recovery, I think I’m in a very healthier mindset, and I’m very excited about the things that I will be creating with Team Wang records, with Team Wang design, starting from now. Because everything from now on, we do it’s way more meaningful now, like this collection.
