German Cheung's approach to his career is refreshingly introspective. "I've developed a habit of self-examination," he reveals, discussing how he balances his roles as an actor and action director. This duality allows him to observe himself from different angles, constantly refining his craft and pushing the boundaries of his performances.
While his performances and comportment are scrutinised, fashion plays another crucial role in Cheung's public image. The actor views styling as a language unto itself. "Every look and costume can bring the audience and the actor into the character," he explains. This attention to detail extends to his personal style, which he curates in collaboration with his stylist. However, Cheung is quick to note that true confidence comes from within, emphasising the importance of choosing the right outfit for the right occasion.

A motion picture where he continued shooting for 18 hours despite a torn calf muscle. Many would see this level of dedication as a testament to his professionalism and passion for his work.
However, all this hard work would be for nought if it wasn’t for those supporting him in his endeavours. Social media, as such, plays a significant role in Cheung's career, allowing him to connect with his fans on a more personal level. "The audience wants to see a more authentic side of the artist," he observes. Cheung uses his platform to share professional photos and real moments, aiming to spread positive energy through his online presence.
Having a social platform coupled with his affinity for physicality, martial arts soon became integral to Cheung's repertoire for which his fans are all the more grateful. This inevitably influenced his approach to action roles. Furthermore, rather than focusing solely on combat techniques, he appreciates the unique beauty of each martial art style and seeks to incorporate this aesthetic into his performances. This approach aligns with his goal of creating a new era of "ethics of martial art" in cinema.
As Cheung looks to the future, he expresses interest in expanding his skill set to include directing. "I'm still learning," he says humbly, demonstrating a commitment to growth that has undoubtedly contributed to his success thus far.
