Allen’s most recent film Café Society will open the 69th Cannes Film Festival on May 11.
Featuring an all-star cast including Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively and Steve Carell, Café Society will hold its world premiere on the opening day of the festival, as an Official Selection Out of Competition title, according to the festival organisers.
Filmed in Los Angeles and New York, the film takes place in the 1930s and follows the adventures of a young man hoping to work in the film industry.
This will make Woody Allen the first director to present three films at the Cannes festival on opening night, after Hollywood Ending in 2002 and Midnight in Paris in 2011.
Café Society will be released later this year through Amazon Studios.
