A Disney+ filled December with re-imagination of classics

The House of Mouse has plenty to keep kids of all ages entertained over the holidays, especially with the powerhouse of a media library it has. Here are our picks:
Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration
Tale as old as time, or at least 30 years.
This is a special live performance to celebrate three decades of Disney animation, similar to what was done for The Little Mermaid a little while ago. It stars music artists H.E.R. as Belle and Josh Groban as the Beast.
The two-hour special promises new sets and never-before-seen musical performances. Each performer is said to pay homage to the classic while adding to the iconic story for viewers at home. So we can expect something new, something old. With the vocal stylings of Josh Groban and this beloved story, it would be hard to go wrong.
Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl
This live-to-film concert experience brings back the original voice cast and adds special guests, including Carlos Vives and Andrés Cepeda.
It features an 80-person orchestra, 50 dancers and “out-of-this-world” special effects. Basically, this is a chance to re-live the magic at Casa Madrigal if you love the film and you wish to see the original voice actors bring their characters to live in a musical format. We don’t talk about Bruno, but we will be talking about this concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

The Territory
As we celebrate the holidays in our homes, this is a more serious and educational look by National Geographic at others who are fighting for theirs.
The Territory covers how the Amazon’s Indigenous Uru-Eu-Wau-Wau people are fighting against the encroaching deforestation brought by farmers and illegal settlers on protected Indigenous land.
It has picked up wins at film festivals for its gorgeous cinematography and on-the-ground portrayal of the tensions between the Indigenous people and the settlers.
The Muppet Chrismas Carol
Another take on A Chrismas Carol but this time, with some history to it.
30 years after Disney released The Muppet Chrismas Carol, we get an extended cut of the festive hit featuring Jim Henson’s puppet cast. It will include the song When Love is Gone, which was part of the original theatrical and VHS release but cut in the era of DVDs.
Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and all the loveable Muppets are joined by Michael Caine in a memorable performance as the penny-pinching Ebenezer Scrooge.

The Santa Clauses
New episodes of the series, based on The Santa Clauses film franchise starring Tim Allen, will drop.
The story follows Scott Calvin/Santa Claus, as he looks to move on in life and find a replacement Santa as his 65th birthday looms. Even Santa needs a break and prepares for life after Christmas. This is for fans of the original films and a new generation of Santa’s helpers.
