With over five million plastic bottles thrown away daily in Hong Kong, it’s never been more important to reduce, reuse and recycle – and that includes your beauty routine too.
Thankfully, there are now several stores in Hong Kong where you can reduce waste by reusing your old bottles, jars and containers to refill them with new beauty products. From soap to shampoo, these shops have got you covered:
Live Zero Bulk Beauty
This Sai Ying Pun gem is basically nirvana for bulk beauty lovers. Not only can you fill up on bodycare staples like shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face wash and body balm from local eco brand Bathe To Basics, Live Zero stocks pretty much everything you could need to create your own beauty lotions and potions too.
Here you’ll find shelves stocked full of zero-waste essential oils, butters (such as shea and cocoa butters), clays and powders (great for detoxifying masks and scrubs), waxes and resins, dried flowers and herbs, and even hydrosols, gels and antioxidants – including aloe vera gel, vitamin E and witch hazel.

Slowood
A one-stop shop for everything eco, stunning lifestyle store Slowood now boasts two locations in Kennedy Town and Discovery Bay – with both featuring a range of refill stations to cater for your beauty needs.
Fill up on shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and bubble bath in a variety of fragrances from veteran Canadian line Carina Organics; there’s also bulk shampoo, conditioner, and hand and body soap from The Unscented Company, plus lavender or bergamot hand soap from Common Good. You can also pick up a few bulk ingredients for DIY beauty experiments, including organic floral water, clay, and dried herbs and flowers.

I Never Use Foundation (INUF) Breakfast Club
A haven of calm in hectic Tsim Sha Tsui, INUF Breakfast Club is one of our favourite spots to indulge in a serene spa treatment before browsing their curated collection of eco-conscious beauty brands – including their very own INUF skincare line.
Their Green Beauty Bar features refill stations for a small but perfectly formed selection of in-house products, including divinely-scented hand wash, hand sanitiser, and three different varieties of body wash. Their tranquil store is also home to a fun Mix Your Own Green Beauty station, where staff will help you create a customised face or body scrub.

Heroes of Hong Kong’s green beauty scene since 2011, Bathe To Basics offers several refillable items at their standalone store for stocking up on all your skin, bath and body care essentials.
All their products use the finest natural and organic ingredients, and are handmade right here in Hong Kong – so head to their lovely PMQ boutique to fill your boots (or to be more exact, bottles) with their signature body and hand soaps, shampoo, conditioner, face wash and cleansing oil.

Le Labo
Cult fragrance line Le Labo blends all their scents to order upon purchase – which is exactly why they can help refill your favourite Le Labo perfumes in-store too.
Simply bring your empty Le Labo perfume bottles to one of their Hong Kong boutiques and they’ll top you up in no time – with a 20% discount from the perfume’s standard price as an extra incentive to go eco. Just remember, you can only refill bottles with the same scent they stored previously, and refills are only available for the brand’s classic eau de parfum collection and Hong Kong city exclusive fragrance.
