The Grammys is over and in no particular order, here’s our favourite moments of this year’s show:

1. Rihanna drinks from her diamond flask

No further comment.

2. Beyonce’s chair stunt

The queen of pop, pregnant with twins, floored the crowd when she hovered precariously on the edge of a chair during her performance.

3. Twenty One Pilots takes off pants

Like any best friends, these two used to watch the Grammys together in their underwear. So it logically follows that they had to accept their award in the same fashion. The pair won Best Pop Duo / Group Performance, and the internet is better off for it.

4. James Corden falls and raps

His fall from the stairs, amongst other malfunctions, gave the likeable host a very rough start. Fortunately, it was all part of the plan and he went on to an impressive rap about the star studded audience.

5. Unsigned artist, Chance the Rapper, bags three Grammys

Chance doesn’t believe in selling music, or belonging to any record label, and his unorthodox approach to the industry paid off. He left the awards last night as the winner of Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album.

6. Adele breaks her Album of the Year award

As a testament to her love and respect for Beyonce, Adele broke her Grammy in half to share with the pregnant Queen Bae. In a press conference, Adele said, “My album of the year is Lemonade. So a piece of me did die inside— as a Beyoncé fan — not going to lie. I was completely rooting for her, I voted for her. I felt like it was her time to win. What the f**k does she have to do to win Album of the Year?”

7. Schoolboy Q embraces girl power

Schoolboy Q took a classy and comfortable stance on gender equality, “I see a lot of stuff going on with women these days and I’m here to support them. I could go out and protest and all that, but me having a little girl, I think it starts right here— to let her know what’s going on, how she needs to be treated and the respect she needs to be given.”

8. CeeLo Green looks like a Ferrero Rocher

Twitter did not hold back.

9. Bruno Mars pays tribute to Prince

The artist formerly known as Bruno Mars came out on stage in full Prince attire, from the purple suit down to the iconic guitar. His rendition of ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ was the perfect ode to the late singer-songwriter.

10. Lady Gaga and… Metallica?

An unlikely, but so excellent, combination that surprised and delighted. Not even Hetfield’s early mic malfunction could hinder this power-act.
