Parmigiani Fleurier surprised us with a revolutionary new way of introducing some of their latest timepieces at this year’s SIHH.
Apart from their collaboration with renowned super sportscar manufacturer Bugatti, Parmigiani has typically been known to be reserved and sophisticated. This year at SIHH the brand invited someone special to present the watches for us. Ilya Sachkov @sachkot (Friend of The Brand) who specializes in “Cybersecurity in the new luxury in digital age” founder of one of the world’s cybersecurity leaders. Sachkov was not like anybody whom you could possibly imagine. This stylish young man certainly grabs the attention of the crowd (mainly ladies and me) by his dapper way of dressing and acute sense of Russian humor that captured all our attention during his talks on today’s cybersecurity. Sackhov works with the International authorities such as the CIA, Interpol, and different governing bodies around the world to crackdown and arrest cyber criminals. He is also a billionaire with many Parmigiani watches.
This year’s novelty from Parmigiani has to be the Kalpagraph Chronometre Titanium, a sporty and sophisticated Kalpa. The original Kalpa was created back in 2001. The integrated chronograph – unlike the modular kind – is a complication which few manufacturers in the world have mastered on an industrial scale. In 2018, Parmigiani Fleurier presented a shaped integrated chronograph – the PF362 – which currently drives the new Kalpagraphe Chronomètre Titanium. Entirely developed and manufactured in-house over a period of six years, this calibre works at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz) and demonstrates an accuracy of one tenth of a second.
From the Toric collection comes the Toric Chronomètre Guiliche Dial and the Toric Quantième Perpétuel Rétrograde.
From the Tonda 1950 comes two new collection: the Tonda 1950 Stone-set range in round diamonds or an explosion of rainbow colours and a new Tonda 1950 Lune guaranteed to keep the ladies happy.
