​Single Thread, which opened December in Healdsburg, California, is heralded as the Golden State’s answer to ryokan – Japanese traditional inns that offer elaborate meals and comfortable lodgings. Single Thread is the embodiment of a dream shared by chef Kyle Connaughton, formerly of The Fat Duck, and his wife, Katina, to bring omotenashi, the Japanese art of selfless hospitality, to Sonoma wine country.
