With the 21-day quarantine still firmly intact, it may be a while before any of us travel for leisure. That said, a swath of new hotels has made this pandemic period a little more interesting, with special offers, vibrant interiors and new restaurants and bars to try.

The Arca Hotel is the latest addition to Hong Kong’s hospitality landscape. Nestled in the heart of Wong Chuk Hang, the 187-room hotel is developed by Yulan Group, helmed by father-son duo, William and Justin Ma who sought to design a “new playground for millennial explorers in Hong Kong”. The pair employed the talents of local design firm, Design Eight Five Two (DEFT) to carry out this vision, through soft, warm colours, contemporary textures and elegant details that perfectly frame the hotel’s sweeping sea views.

The industrial chic neighborhood of Wong Chuk Hang has become something of a destination for city dwellers looking to roam beyond Hong Kong island, and the Arca’s prime location makes it a desirable choice for anyone seeking a practical hotel option that also feels indulgent. Guests near and far can enjoy the Arca’s specially designed rooms and suites, each cultivated with modern living and a range of stays in mind. Grab your besties and check out the Sea Suite, spaciously appointed to accommodate three adults, with a luxurious king bed and additional pull out bed to provide a restful night’s sleep. The suite’s double window offers plenty of natural lighting which guests can bask in from the kitchenette and breakfast bar.

Small families can relax in the Sea Family Suite, which hosts a king bed and two single beds, plus two bathrooms and a large kitchenette that overlooks the harbour. With intuitive details and essential amenities in each living space, the Arca’s guestrooms provide the perfect ambiance to unwind at your leisure, and experience new adventures.

These days an accessible rooftop is perhaps the next best thing to international travel and the Arca makes use of its own with a gorgeous infinity pool that provides unforgettable views overlooking Sham Wan and Ap Lei Chau. Pool enthusiasts will relish in the lush vistas between dips while cocktail lovers can relax at Area Sky, the poolside bar flanked with an outdoor terrace serving classic hand-crafted cocktails, a curated wine list, traditional beers, and a selection of tasty bar bites.

Guests seeking an all-day dining option need look no further than the Arca Society, the hotel’s elegant yet leisurely restaurant offering Asian and Western cuisine including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Enjoy your meal in the contemporary open dining room or out on the terrace. Beyond the hotel, the surrounding district serves as an ideal neighborhood to explore and indulge, with a bevy of food and drink options, cultural sites and activities.

For pet owners, it’s also worth noting that the Arca is a dog-friendly hotel with a range of dog amenities, foods and services to pamper your four-legged friend.

Whether you’re looking to book your next staycation, with girlfriends, the dog, or the family, the Arca Hotel has a host of options to ensure an inspired and unforgettable experience.
