You still stand a chance to own James Bond memorabilia, although you’re a bit too late if you had your eyes on the Prototype Seamaster worn by Daniel Craig, or the Aston Martin DB10 he drove in the movie Spectre.
At the live auction held last week, the ‘Prototype one’ Omega Seamaster 300 fetched 92,500 pounds (which is approximately US$100,000.) The first of the eight prototypes Craig wore in the film, the special timepiece features a sleek black dial and a black bi-directional rotating bezel made from polished ceramic. The watch is driven by the Omega master co-axial calibre 8400, and is fitted on a black and grey Nato strap.
The bidding for the Aston DB10 was even fiercer, and the luxury car – the only one to ever be offered for sale – was sold to a mystery buyer for almost US$3.5 million.
The online sale, which began on February 16 and ends tonight, is conducted by Christie’s, featuring Spectre memorabilia from the archives of Eon Productions, the makers of the Bond films. Proceeds from the auction is set to benefit non-profit organisations, including Doctors Without Borders.
The online sale includes movie props and autographed items, like the cocktail set from the movie’s train scene, or Bond’s shoulder holster. Diehard fans may still want to try their luck for the Omega 300 limited edition watch personalised with an engraved message. It didn’t make an appearance in the movie, but it is previously owned by Jesper Christensen, who plays the villainous Mr White in Casino Royale and makes an appearance in Spectre.
