Red alert

Valentino may be best known for its visionary approach to fashion, but at long last, it’s breaking into the world of beauty with its first make-up collection. The versatile range – featuring exquisite textures, harmonious colours and high-performance formulas – is the brainchild of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and LA-based make-up artist Raoul Alejandre. “Beauty is directly connected to the intensity of our feelings – the more we love, the more we are connected to our true self, the more it shows and glows on the outside,” Piccioli says. “Valentino Beauty is for the dreamers.”

Vacation mode

Online luxury retailer MatchesFashion is celebrating the long-awaited return to travel with an exclusive collection of summer vacation pieces from Stockholm-based studio Totême. The 13-piece edit includes new and permanent pieces from the Totême collection, ranging from its signature monogram swimsuit and beach towels updated in new colourways to terry-towelling pieces that make perfect day-to-night cover-ups. Also included are Totême iterations of beach classics like pool slides and a raffia sun hat, all updated in chic muted tones for vacations both close to home and far, far away.

Solar power

Why settle for a healthy glow when you can have a Solar Glow? Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s Solar Glow Collection provides a subtle touch of Mediterranean warmth with its range of complexion-enhancing products, including the newly launched Healthy Glow Cushion Foundation and Translucent Loose Setting Powder. The weightless foundation, with SPF50 PA+++, and ultra-thin perfecting veil both feature the Mediterranean Glow Complex as well as the unique Solar Glow scent and bright, colourful packaging inspired by the iconic Dolce & Gabbana majolica pattern.

The man, the myth

Photo: Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton may be one of the world’s most revered luxury brands, but before it was even an idea it was simply a man with a vision. Adventurer, entrepreneur, designer and innovator Louis Vuitton was born on August 4, 1821. Now, Louis 200 celebrates his life and legacy through a series of creative initiatives featuring collaborators from around the world. Among the first, and most innovative, is Louis: The Game. The video game, available for download beginning August 4, features embedded NFTs. It will be followed by a novel and documentary among many other unique initiatives.

Clear winners

Photo: Rimowa

Rimowa is shaking up its signature style with a splash of see-through electric colour for its two new Essential Neon suitcases. The additions feature the Essential collection’s signature grooves and hard polycarbonate shell, but the transparent neon pink and lime cases are all new. Built for a week’s worth of travel, the gleaming hard shell protects a matte black interior with mesh zip compartments. Black accents trace along the exterior as well, from the telescopic handles and ball-bearing wheels to the zipper and Rimowa logo badge.

The art of giving

Photo: Loewe

Spanish atelier Loewe transports five iconic handbags across the world with its new Japan-inspired gift box. The collector’s set contains nano-sized versions of the Puzzle, Hammock, Gate, Flamenco and Balloon handbags. All items are crafted in soft nappa calfskin, in hues of yellow, primary red, candy, lagoon and rosemary. Beyond that, the gift box itself is a work of art, handcrafted from Japanese Paulownia wood and tied together using a traditional sanada-himo cord. The inner compartments are lined with matching colours and an engraving of the brand’s emblem graces the lid.
