A luxury residence located in Hong Kong’s sought-after Mid-Levels neighbourhood has just broken the record for the most expensive apartment ever sold in Asia.
Bloomberg reports that the apartment, part of CK Asset Holdings’ upscale 21 Borrett Road project, was sold for a whopping HK$459 million (US$50 million).
With the flat spanning an impressive 3,378 square feet in size, that clocks in at HK$136,000 per square foot – making it officially the most expensive apartment in Asia, and breaking the previous record set in 2017 by another Hong Kong luxury development, Mount Nicholson on The Peak.
Purchased by an unidentified buyer, the luxurious flat is located on Borrett Road’s 23rd floor and features five bedrooms, a swimming pool, private roof terrace and three parking spaces.
The sale cements Hong Kong’s status as being home to some of the world’s most expensive and exclusive properties – even amidst the challenges of a global pandemic – with real estate firm CBRE ranking the city as the world’s most expensive place to purchase a home.
