Supreme has painted its signature red hue over Louis Vuitton hoodies, Nike sneakers, and even Oreo cookies. But for the first time in its 26-year history, the streetwear giant is making its foray into beauty by releasing a limited edition lipstick with none other than Pat McGrath Labs.
Pat McGrath
Proclaimed by Anna Wintour as “the most influential makeup artist in the world”, Pat McGrath has created beauty looks for numerous luxury fashion heavyweights, from Gucci to Prada to Alexander McQueen. In 2015, the make-up artist started her eponymous label Pat McGrath Labs, which has grown to become a US$1 billion company since its inception.
The new lipstick is designed with the Pat McGrath MATTETRANCE, a formula known for its bold saturated matte finish yet highly hydrating pigmentation. It is housed in the iconic Pat McGrath gold lip emblem tube, printed of course with the blocky red and white Supreme logo. The lipstick itself is only available in one shade, appropriately titled “SUPREME” — a fiery red encapsulating both the DNA of Supreme and the allure of Pat McGrath, exclusive to the collaboration.
The FW/20 Accessories collection is due to release in weekly drops starting 20 August at Supreme stores globally and will hit the website starting 24 August. The new lipstick, however, will be sold exclusively on the Supreme New York website. Neither Pat McGrath Labs nor Sephora will offer the limited edition product.
